Our volunteer programs and activities fall into four key areas — (1) Resident Services Support (2) Property Projects (3) Office/Administrative Support and (4) Special Events/Fundraising. Learn about current opportunities by clicking on the toggle for each area.

Community Events

Summer movie nights, community garden work days, health screenings, culinary classes and other community events throughout the year require volunteers and in some cases special skills – contact the Resident Services Director for more information on specific events.

Youth Summer Enrichment Program

For three weeks in the months of June, July, and August (total of 9 weeks) Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 3 pm, at Garden Court, and Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 2 pm at Mountain Terrace. We are always looking for reading buddies and volunteers to help with the daily programs.

SWAG (Students Want Academic Growth)

This homework help program runs Monday through Thursday at Garden Court and Monday through Friday at Mountain Terrace. Meet our great kids, hand out snacks, answer homework questions, monitor and help with the computer lab, help with youth development activities, and be a kind, listening ear.

Communities: Garden Court (3:30 – 5:00 p.m.); Mountain Terrace (3:00 – 4:30 p.m.)

Food Bank Pick-up

Volunteers are needed to assist with Tuesday and Friday food bank pick-ups. This opportunity involves an hour for pick-up and drop-off of food, and can be done weekly or on a rotating basis. If the volunteer has an extra 30 minutes, they can help bag the youth totes and senior totes for distribution.

 Senior Totes Delivery

Volunteers are needed to deliver Senior Totes (a bag of food and other necessities).  Delivered to senior residents in their apartments the middle of each month, this opportunity involves a two hour time commitment. Volunteer monthly or on a rotating basis!

Senior Social and other Aging Programs

Once a month, alternating between lunch and dinner time, the seniors get together for two hours for a meal and social. Seniors are invited to participate in various activities such as games, fitness, and speakers on topics of interest to them. Volunteers are needed to help serve food as well as provide programming.

Urban Garden

Our residents enjoy growing their own healthy food in community gardens. Volunteers are needed to  assist with planting and ongoing  help and guidance.

Newsletter

Volunteers are needed to deliver the community newsletter to residents at the beginning of each month.
