DARIN ROMINE
Treasurer AND FINANCE/PROPERTY COMMITTEE CHAIR
MY WHY:
Several years back, I was drawn to serve on the Board of Rocky Mountain Communities because I believed that it was at the center of affordable housing in Denver. What I did not realize at that time was that the business of operating a non-profit housing organization is more complex than most would expect. I continue to be excited about serving on the Board because of that complexity and the many favorable outcomes created by its strong management team and equally strong balance sheet.

MY WHY:
Most of us take “home” for granted. We shouldn’t. Home is the foundational element of success in life. It is where we build and nurture our families, where we feel safe, where we prepare to go out in the world to work, where we take respite from a grueling day. Imagine if you didn’t have a home, or you had to work two jobs just to keep a roof over your head? How would you raise successful children? How would you achieve anything beyond bare survival? Many do, but it is incredibly difficult. Rocky Mountain Communities provides a desperately needed physical and social foundation from which people can build successful and meaningful lives. The people of Rocky Mountain Communities have a tremendous impact on those they serve and the community as a whole. I truly appreciate the small role I play in supporting the impactful group of people at Rocky Mountain Communities.
