This quarter, RMC partnered with KeyBank to host a four-part Financial Wellness series for residents at Arroyo Village. We are proud to celebrate the 10 residents who completed all four sessions and earned a certificate of completion. Participants also received gift cards to help them begin applying what they learned toward saving for their future.
This comes at an exciting time, as RMC has also partnered with the Credit Builders Alliance to launch a rent-reporting benefit for all residents. We were selected as one of only three affordable housing organizations nationwide to participate in the Credit Builders Alliance® (CBA) Trans Union Rent Reporting Implementation Cohort. Three staff members, Rebecca Yaffe, Tregia Stewart, and Stephanie Guldy, have completed the CREDIT AS AN ASSET™ course certification. Through this program, residents can build their credit score through positive rent payments. Late payments will not be reported, ensuring that the program is designed to support residents. Building credit is an essential stepping stone toward long-term financial mobility. Stronger credit can help individuals qualify for loans, purchase a car, access better financial products, and potentially reduce costs such as insurance premiums.
RMC is also expanding economic mobility opportunities for youth. In partnership with Project Destined, we are piloting an asynchronous internship for high school juniors and seniors focused on career preparedness, financial literacy, and real estate development. With support from the Daniels Fund, this opportunity will be offered in three cohorts throughout 2026.
Students in the first cohort come from high schools across Colorado. At the end of the six-week course, as a culminating experience, students will participate in site visits with corporate partners, including SouthState Bank, Taylor Kohrs, and Shopworks Architecture. During these visits, students will practice mock interview skills, share more about themselves, and present a group project based on a hypothetical affordable housing development. We look forward to sharing more updates as these cohorts continue to learn, grow, and explore new possibilities for their futures.
