Purchase is part of Mayor Johnston’s House1000 initiative

Denver, Colo. November 30, 2023 – Denver-based affordable housing nonprofit, Rocky Mountain Communities (RMC), closed on the acquisition of the former DoubleTree Hotel in Denver’s Central Park neighborhood to provide a safe and warm place for those experiencing homelessness. Rocky Mountain Communities will lease the former hotel to the City and County of Denver in support of Mayor Mike Johnston’s House1000 initiative to bring people indoors and permanently close encampments. The building includes approximately 300 rooms, a commercial kitchen and laundry facility and will include an emergency shelter. The former hotel is located at 4040 Quebec Street. — READ FULL STORY

Denver, Colo. October 5, 2023 – Denver-based affordable housing nonprofit, Rocky Mountain Communities (RMC), has promoted Mark Marshall to chief executive officer. Marshall had been the vice president of real estate development for the past two years.

“Considering Mark’s breadth of experience in affordable housing, we know RMC will continue to thrive and grow under his leadership,” said Greg Litvak, chair of the board of directors at Rocky Mountain Communities. “Over the past two months, while serving as Interim CEO, and during his time as vice president of real estate development, Mark proved that he can strategically lead the organization in growing its portfolio while continuing to focus on what matters most, our residents, their health and well-being.
