The Commons, Colorado Springs, CO

The commons is a low-rise 50 unit community offering 1-3 bedroom units recently built in 2023. We partner with Homeward Pikes Peak to create a unique affordable housing community in Colorado Springs, incorporating permanent supportive housing (PSH) units. This collaboration showcases the power of partnerships in addressing the housing crisis and expanding access to stable housing. The community features 50 thoughtfully designed units aimed at combating homelessness while providing affordable housing in a city facing rising rents. The development serves individuals and families experiencing housing instability and in need of clinical services. Additionally, 10 of the units are designated for Veterans, ensuring critical support for those who have served. Walking distance from Mitchell High School, shops, and restaurants, The Commons is in the dynamic center of Colorado Springs. 

Applicants apply though coordinated entry and can apply at multiple agency locations throughout the City of Colorado Springs. All applicants must complete a VI-SPDAT (housing survey) to be eligible.

Before its founding, modern-day Colorado Springs was part of the American frontier. Established in 1859 during the Pike’s Peak Gold Rush, Old Colorado City served as the Colorado Territory capital before being annexed into Colorado Springs. Railroads played a key role in the city’s growth, with seven major railway junctions bringing tourists and commerce. The city also became a hub for mining exchanges and brokers during the Cripple Creek Gold Rush.
